Saturday, Nov. 24th
After we had a thoroughly relaxing day on Thanksgiving, the girls all got up at the crack of dawn to engage in a bit of Black Friday shopping! Even Piper went along this year. Kim made us all beverages to go, and we headed out to our favorite stores. This year most of the stores opened as early as 10PM Thanksgiving night, so it was nice that by the time we went at 6:30 AM that the stores really weren’t all that crowded. Of course, that meant that we missed some of the deals, but we all got what we set out to find!
Later that afternoon all the grown ups took naps. It totally rocked. Madi entertained the little kids (including Griffin the 5yr old neighbor who was over playing with Lawson). So we were all nice and refreshed for the Safety Harbor Pub Crawl that night! we hit up 8 local bars in one night, collecting a poker card at each stop along the way. We thought for sure we had a winning hand by the end of the night, but it was not to be. We still had a really great time seeing the fun little downtown area and had a blast spending quality time with Kim and Gary.
Saturday was beach + football day! We took the kids for a walk on the beach, then we had a really yummy lunch at a beachfront restaurant out on the patio. We did a little shopping, stopped and got Publix subs (YUMMY!) and we all settled in for a long afternoon of college football. The Gators took on FSU (every Saturday after Thanksgiving) and this year we WON 37-26. We all had a great time cheering on the Gators, and Mike and Gary did a fun Gangnam style dance after every good play (there may have been beer involved with that!).
Here are my favorite pics from Saturday at the beach!
