Making her creek-side Cupboard

I’ve been hiding indoors for several weeks now thanks to the annual occurence of that dang Mountain Cedar that gives me horrible allergy problems every year. But yesterday the weather was so darn nice that I just couldn’t resist heading out. So while Lawson was playing in the cul-de-sac with al the boys, including his friend Matthew who had come over for a play date, Piper and I headed down to the creek to play.  We love spending time down there! She rollerbladed there and back – loving every minute – while I wondered how those skinny little bird legs could possibly hold her body upright:)

We ditched the rollerblades up by the sidewalk and I gave her a piggy back ride down to the creek, then I just sat back and took pics while she played. It took her 2 minutes to decide that she was going to make a “cupboard” in the grasses along the creek, so we could hold our “important stuff”.  Making the cupboard entailed weaving dried grasses around a dead bush:)then she covered it with leaves and sealed it with slime she fished out of the edge of the creek. I helped a little, but we talked the whole time and she told me all about how she was making it and what we could do with it when it was finished. And I took pictures the whole time:)Needless to say, by the time the first side was finished it was time to go.  But we both left feeling happy and satisfied with our little afternoon excursion and it was a happy trip back home!
