Peach Tree blossoms

I generally don’t love spring, simply because I know that summer is right around the corner:)  But one of the things I do enjoy seeing each year is our Sam Houston peach tree blooming back to life.  I took these shots last weekend, and already the blossoms are falling off, being replaced with vibrant green leaves.  This peach tree is really wonderful – we found it in a junk pile years ago in a lot that wasn’t yet built on.  Right in the middle of a pile of concrete, limestone and dirt was a tiny stick.  On that stick was one solitary pink bloom.  I yelled for Mike to stop the car – we pulled it from the pile and brought it home and planted it.  It took us a while to figure out what it was!  To see it now is pretty amazing:)

beautiful pics, peach! :-) We’ll always remember finding that little twig and watching it grow into a huge tree. hopefully this is another good year for the peaches!

When you first planted it I wasn’t sure it had a future, but it is a beautiful tree. The peaches are delicious, if you get them before the squirrels do. Great pics. Our tree is in bloom also. We never get peaches, the squirrels beat us every time!
