UT – Girl Scout Tennis Clinic

Saturday, April 7th

The University of Texas women’s tennis team hosted a clinic for the Girl Scouts!  We packed a lunch and headed down to UT to watch the team take on Boston University.  Texas won in a landslide!  The girls were cute (and admittedly getting restless) waiting for the matches to be over so their clinic could start!

After the match, the women’s team divided up the girls and gave them pointers on ground strokes and volleys.  The kids rotated through lines taking turns to hit balls.  The Texas tennis women were so nice and really friendly, not to mention very patient with the girls! 2013-04-17_0002

The kids played little games and got to pick prizes for winning, and Piper got a t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses.  She wore her shirt to school the next day!  At the end of the clinic, the tennis team made time to take pictures with the kids and to sign autographs for them.  It was a really fun afternoon and very awesome of the Texas tennis team to give their time to the girls like that!

That pretty little Piper looked like she had a busy time at camp and playing tennis. That guy with the black shirt and tie has to learn that when you hang with the GIRL SCOUTS dosen’t mean that you Scout for Girls !!! Looks like he knows how to pick them !! Love Ya, Grandpa
