Keepers of the garden

Summers in Texas are brutal.

Oppressive heat, for months on end, with little rain to quench the desperate thirst of the plants struggling to survive.

Such is the mission ahead of Brownie troop 1608:  Keep the garden of Forest Creek Elementary school alive.  No irrigation, no sprinklers.  Just a hose and watering cans.  And many, many hot thirsty days ahead.  If I were a betting girl, my money would be on the oppressive heat to conquer the best efforts of our little ol’ troop.  we shall see;)

This week Piper and Samantha (and their very good non-Brownie friend Parker) waged the first of many battles ;)   …

What a terrific series! They seem to be enjoying themselves despite the heat. I hope the plants will make it through to the end of summer. I love your opening and closing shots in particular. Just lovely. :)
