Football practice

I know.  You were just sitting here thinking “you know what I need?  MORE FOOTBALL!”.

Well it’s your lucky day.  Lawson’s first game is tomorrow, so that means I have to post pics from his last practice this week before they’re outdated:)

He’s still not sure about this whole football thing - he likes the idea of it, and likes having the cool equipment, but he doesn’t like getting smashed into and wrapped up and knocked down by the other kids (and really, who can blame him?).  At this age the boys aren’t supposed to tackle, but they sometimes lose their balance and the whole pile of them usually ends up on the ground.   Tonight, as we were snuggling before bedtime, he told me he’s nervous about his game tomorrow that there might be big kids who will hurt him.  What do you say to that?!  anyhow, we’ll see how it goes…I suppose we can always try baseball next:)

Anyhow, a bazillion pictures from football practice last week.  These are the last of the practice pictures, I promise (I think)…

In most of the pictures the poor little guy looks like he is going to an execution. It takes a certain type of person to want to get his head banged in, or bang another persons head in, for the fun of it. I think we all know this little guy is not that kind of person. I always thought it was more fun to go fishing or go to the woods on a beautiful fall Saturday than go to the coliseum and watch the gladiators strut their stuff in front of a cheering crowd of people who would never do it themselves. Oh well, I am just an old man rambling on. Love ‘ya all, Grandpa
