the cat is gone. but I can’t talk about it.

because I’ll cry.

She slept with us last Friday night but was up and out the door before we woke that morning, and we never saw her again.  We posted to our neighborhood’s facebook group page – and let me just say – WHO KNEW there were so many damn black cats around here.  Based on intel from our neighbors we chased down a few of them, only to confirm that it wasn’t our Lovee.  We posted flyers around the mailboxes and we posted an ad to Craig’s list but she just hasn’t turned up.

The kids talk about her like she’s still our cat.  Just the other day Lawson wrote “I love my cat” with bath crayons in the shower.  And Piper said that if we ever moved, we need a big back yard because Lovee loves being outside so much.  And I just cry.  a lot.  Hopefully by the time the kids figure out she’s not coming back, they won’t miss her as much and it won’t hurt them as much as it hurts me right now.

So I can’t talk about it anymore. Stupid cat.

But here are some really cute pictures of Piper.  Because I need cute and happy right now.  Thanks to my awesome hubby who gave me a new anniversary/birthday present camera lens early because he knew it has been a rough week for me.  It is definitely the only time I’ve felt like picking up my camera since…well, you know.
