Mine Crafty

Ever since we moved Lawson has been asking for a Minecraft bedspread.  I looke everywhere and never found one.  I checked Etsy for a home-made verson, but at $250 for a twin verson, neither the price nor the size would cut it.  For about 3 minutes I entertained the idea of making one myself, laughed at the thought, then called Granny.

I showed her links to some of Lawson’s favorite quilts online and she got with Aunt Annie Lou and they did all the rest.  They made up a grid and designed out the quilt to fit his full size bed, and even arranged the pattern so that none of the important bits would hang off the side.  He was so excited to get his special quilt, and I am so incredibly thankful that they took the time to make something so special for him!

I love these – all the hugs.  And in the photo above Aunt Annie Lou is talking all about “them itty bitty squares”!  They originall thought they could do the quilt in bigger squares, but with the complexity of the pattern they quickly realized they needed to make them much smaller – which meant more sewing!

And of course they wouldn’t leave out Piper.  So she got her very own quilt and pillow in pink and purple with gold edging!

LOVE THE PHOTOS. SO HAPPY TO MAKE THEM QUILTS AND TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY APPRECIATED THEM.
